Curious about diversity and the dharma?

Using the tools of meditation and the Buddha's teachings of liberation, we will explore and share in dialogue our experiences of race and privilege.

    Nov. 14-16, 2008

    Fri: 7-9 PM
    Sat: 9:30 - 6:30
    Sun: 9:30 - 1:00

Please spread the word...Tell your friends!

THIS RETREAT IS FOR BOTH BEGINNING AND EXPERIENCED MEDITATORS.
You do not have to call yourself a Buddhist to benefit from this dialogue.

Mindfulness helps us to see clearly the truth about our lives, and loving-kindness opens our hearts, strengthening our capacity to love and heal.  Primarily practicing in silence, we will alternate sitting and walking meditation, weaving in periods of discussion. Using the tools of mindfulness and loving-kindness, we will have an opportunity to meet as a whole group together as well as in two groups - people of color and white-to further explore and understand our experiences of racism, marginality and privilege.
