Time and Place
The teaching will be held January 12-14, 2009, at Tergar Monastery in Bodhgaya, India, following the 26th Kagyu Monlam. There will be two teaching sessions each day, from 9 to 11 am and 3 to 5 pm.
For whom
This teaching is primarily intended for students from Western countries, addressing their own particular needs and situations. Students from Asian countries are welcome but may be asked to sit in the back or outside, depending on the available space.
Translation
The teachings will be translated into English. There will also be translations over FM radio into other major European languages, as well as into Chinese and Korean.
Dana
There is no fee for the teachings, but participants will have the opportunity to make teaching gifts and offerings to His Holiness.
Registration
Please register online at www.kagyumonlam.org/English/News/Announcement/2009_HHK_Teaching.html. You will be asked to show your passport and provide two passport-sized photos when you arrive at the teaching. If you do not register, you are welcome to attend, but you will have to sit outside and watch the teachings on large-screen TV. For more information, visit www.kagyumonlam.org.
Seating
Due to the large number of people expected to attend, seating will be arranged on a rotating basis so that all those who have registered get a chance to sit in the front center for at least one teaching session. Priority seating will be given to students from Western countries who register in advance. There will be large-screen TVs so that anyone sitting outside will be able to see His Holiness and the proceedings.

Please make your own arrangements for accommodations. There are several hotels and guesthouses in Bodhgaya, offering a range of services and prices. You are encouraged to make your reservation early. Hwa Yue teachings for Asian students
For three days prior to the 26th Kagyu Monlam (December 31, 2008-January 2, 2009), the Hwa Yue Foundation will host teachings by the Gyalwang Karmapa primarily for students from Asian countries. These teaching will also be at Tergar Monastery in Bodhgaya. The topic will be: "The Meditation of the Practice Lineage." Translation will be into Chinese, with translation into English and other languages over FM radio. Students from Western countries are welcome to attend but may be asked to sit in the back or outside, depending on the available space. There will be large-screen TVs so that anyone sitting outside will be able to see His Holiness.
